Dear Readers,

I also want to share something that continues from the previous post I wrote (please refer to the link above) and that connects with the theme of finding yourself. Sometimes I feel like we can struggle when it comes to the theme of self-love and to embrace and accept ourselves as we are while acknowledging the fact that, yes, there are areas in our lives that we need to improve on even if it is something like losing weight. Let me just say that sometimes when I look in the mirror I see many different reflections of myself. I will admit it can be very tough to take a good look and conduct a deep self-analysis of myself. Because that is where I see, more than my good qualities, my flaws, things that bring out the worst in me, bad habits, negative traits, goals I have yet to fulfill and so forth. However, I also see a person and girl who despite facing certain challenges in my life, have been very brave and stood my ground and persevered. I have on and off days where I sometimes don’t feel like getting out of bed and am not in the best mood or state of mind but I get up, I face the day and put on a smile even when I don’t Β always necessarily feel like it. This is very raw and not easy for me to share. I didn’t even intend to write this but I ended up doing so because if anyone out there is reading this and also struggling and having tough days you are not alone my friend!

I guess what I’m also trying to say here is that is it fine to not be okay sometimes, to be sad, angry or down. We are humans, after all, this is reality, we have our ups and downs and it isn’t always possible to be in a cheerful, pleasant and upbeat mood. Now, this by no means indicates that I’m saying wallow in your misery and stay in a rut forever! What I mean is that part of life’s journey and struggle is to experience a myriad of emotions. However, what is important to note here is that it is okay to be sad or angry as long as it is temporary and we grow from that particular emotion in a healthy and positive way. We learn a life lesson and have a turning point or change where we desire to improve some areas of our lives so we don’t feel that way.Β

A Bit of Wisdom for the end of the Week: β€œA Little Kindness Goes A Long Wayβ€πŸŒΈπŸŒ·πŸŒΉπŸ‘©β€β€οΈβ€πŸ‘¨πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘§πŸ‘«πŸΎ

Dear Readers,

Not too long ago while I was organizing and putting stuff away in the closet I came across and discovered this beautiful little pink book called β€œLittle Acts of Kindness.” I started reading it and showed it to my mom who reminded me that she got this book awhile back for herself to read. She said she enjoyed reading it and that I could read it too and keep it. I was very happy and completed reading it recently. I really liked how the author of this book explained different ways in which one could express kindness and be helpful to others too and make a meaningful difference in the world. I also loved the beautiful quotes (with simple yet lovely background and design) scattered throughout this book. I’ve shared some below and hope you enjoy reading and looking at them πŸ™‚πŸŒΈ:Β  Read More

Dear Readers,

In today’s post, I would like to share an autobiography I recently finished reading called More Myself: A Journey by Alicia Keys. I first heard about this book from a podcast series episode called “On Purpose” hosted by the motivational speaker Jay Shetty. His guest on that particular podcast episode and interview was Alicia Keys. She mentioned her book that she had written and published some time back. I was interested in checking it out so I was happy when I was able to check it out from my library. My overall rating of the book is that as much as I was looking forward to reading the book I, unfortunately, was not that engaged in the book as much as I hoped to be. I did not find it that interesting. However, I will say that I still came across some very beautiful, inspirational and wisdom enriched words from Alicia Keys based on her life experiences and I appreciated them very much. I also appreciated the premise and key underlying theme of her life journey and the quotes she shared from her life journey which was on “finding your true self and finding parts of yourself that you may have lost in the process of life.”Β
